Dilli Haat is a shoppers’ paradise especially those who love handmade stuff. I too love handmade & organic things, that’s why Dilli Haat is an amazing hangout place for me. The first few shops in the Emporium start from clothes. Women’s suit material, saris, stoles, decorative wall hangings, intricate carpets and even furniture everything at a reasonable price. I didn’t buy any cloth for suits, but I liked a few and I’m sure to return here soon.

Just after the clothing section, I stumbled upon the handmade stationary stall, and I couldn’t resist myself. I bought a colorful hand-made notebook, just to add a beautiful piece to my collection.

This handicraft market in Delhi has something for everyone. I also purchased beautiful Indian jhumkas for myself.

We were searching for lightweight home decor items, and I found similar ones which I saw in Jaipur & Pushkar’s market. If you are interested in giving your home true Indian vibe, I suggest trying out some of the items like these.

Not only typical Rajasthani decor items are available here but Indian styled too. Flowery bells, gorgeous bedside lamps, accessories boxes and various others. If you’re visiting India for the first time, you can take home one of these as souvenirs. I met a guy who was looking for a gift for his girlfriend and he asked my advice. Because he got so overwhelmed with all the lovely colors all around. Ultimately he decided with a notebook like I bought.

Antiques in Dilli Haat

I stumbled upon a shop where I saw these beautiful antique brass clocks, bells, and compass that I couldn’t resist clicking. Although they were too expensive for me, so I satisfied my urge by a photograph only 😀 I would love to decorate my home with these, but the cost involved is too high, they were of 2500 INR or 38$ per piece or more.

How to Reach Dilli Haat

Dilli Haat is in INA, near to AIIMS hospital so a particularly prime location of South Delhi. This heritage market in Delhi is well-connected through metro, buses, auto-rickshaws, and cabs. There’s also a parking facility available for those who would like to drive around the capital. The closest metro station is INA, which will take you directly to Dilli Haat. I recommend metro than other mediums, as INA is in a heavy traffic zone so you can get stuck in traffic jam. To avoid that, use metro instead.

Dilli Haat is a fairly reasonable place to visit in Delhi. The ticket costs no more than 30 INR which is even less than a dollar.

Dilli Haat is like a mini India portraying different cultures and so it is applicable to food as well. Dilli Haat has a range of nice restaurants from different parts of India. They offer South Indian, Rajasthani, North-eastern, Punjabi and more like them. Even the food is extremely reasonable here. You can choose as per your preference, I can assure you’ll not be disappointed.
