Travel Tag!!

I woke up to a pleasant surprise this morning – My first Travel Tag 🙂

Many Thanks to Gypsybus28 for tagging me in the Travel Tag. Travelling has always been a driving force for me letting me escape from the reality and dive into a world where everything is new and unknown. Travelling brings out the best in me, opens me to face new challenges, meeting new people and explore the unexplored.  I had a vacation to Odisha, India for a week and receiving this travel tag after this short timeline of my latest trip is so exciting 😀 Also I had completed a year of starting my blog on 31st March, so this is surely a thrilling week.

Really grateful to Gypsybus28 aka Jen for considering my blog for the ‘Travel Tag’, making this more a special one for me considering her varied interests which she covers in her blog elegantly including her travels, some delicious European/Chinese delicacies, several amazing beauty product reviews and on life as well.

I think it’s time that I should move to the questions now –

1. WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE YOU HAVE VISITED?

Hmmm, this is a tricky question for the one who loves to travel. But to select one, I would like to include Paris, which was my first international solo travel so had some great memories associated with Paris. I might travel the world one day, but I think Paris will still top my list because I still remember the way I fell in love with *The City of Lights* the moment I saw Eiffel Tower shining through the night.

2. IF YOU COULD VISIT ANYWHERE TOMORROW, WHERE WOULD YOU PICK?

Leh, India. It has been really long that I’m desperate to cross this place off my list but not able to visit due to untimely circumstances.

3. WOULD YOU RATHER GO ON A CITY HOLIDAY OR A BEACH HOLIDAY?

Hmm, I’m not really a beach person ~ *I’m more of a mountain lover*, but I know that’s not the option 😉 Lately I’ve realized that I love architecture a lot so I might pick a city out the given options. But yes a beach is also an incredible option and the sunrise/sunsets being the photographic clichés. Although I prefer beaches only when they’re clean, not in too hot /humid weather and yes less-crowded beaches. I think that’s not easy to find these days so City would be my pick 🙂

4. WHAT ARE 3 OF YOUR HOLIDAY ESSENTIALS?

Shoes – I have learnt this from my past travels that not only your shoes should be comfortable, but it rather is always good to carry an extra pair. So, now I always carry two pairs of shoes. Yes, you might think we can always buy them, but remember the shoe-bite new shoes give?? That’s a trick I realized and now follow religiously.

Phone & power bank – I don’t have a camera yet, so can’t miss out on my phone – for photos, navigation and most importantly staying in touch. The power bank is slowly becoming a necessity these days, and I think my iPhone friends can understand the pain of a shitty battery of the most expensive phone right now. Better carry a power bank – fully charged – for an urgent situation.

A backpack with extra clothes – You might think why to carry extra – but I think airlines can be messy sometimes and just imagine your luggage is lost for a day or two. Can’t imagine..right?? For these unfortunate scenarios, I carry a backpack with a top or a jacket, jeans and skincare/sanitary basics. I like to travel safely.

5. ARE YOU AN OVER-PACKER OR AN UNDER-PACKER?

Surely an over-packer – see my list above. I carry all sorts of dresses, tops, trek/walking dresses, party dresses and what not. Everyone expects great travel pictures 😀

6. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT GOING ON HOLIDAYS?

I think it would be unfair mentioning only one – knowing about the city & the people would be my top priority and encountering the beauty of this planet would be second.

7. WHAT IS ONE PLACE YOU WOULD NEVER WANT TO VISIT?

I don’t think I am ready to name any place yet, but if there’s a place where people are ungrateful and rude, that might be my no-go zone. Although wherever I’ve ever been to, I’ve met some great people so I can’t name any place right now.

8. WHO WOULD YOU RATHER GO ON A HOLIDAY WITH, FAMILY OR FRIENDS?

Can I add *SOLO*?? Travelling solo makes me feel free, more independent and connect with myself. Travelling with family & friend have its own perks, but travelling solo makes you discover a lot about yourself more. Some people think ‘why solo when you have company’…I say ‘why need company when you have yourself’.. I think everyone should learn to enjoy their own company and not always *depend* on others. Agreed, friends/family are important, but a connection with self is a feeling which can’t be described in words.

9. WHAT IS THE MOST ADVENTUROUS DISH YOU HAVE TRIED FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY?

This would be a difficult one because till date I’ve been little choosy on what I eat. I think it’s time I should push myself to try different things from now on so I might add something to this from my next trip…

10. WHO DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS TRAVEL TAG?

  1. Thanks for your kind words. I really appreciate it. I enjoy reading your tag. I love Paris too. Hopefully, I get to visit it again sometime soon. India has been on my list for a long time. I really want to go there one day.

    1. Yes I think paris can never disappoint no matter how many times you visit. And yes you must try India someday, you’ll find loads of different things in a single country 😊
